Myndbönd voru tekin upp í desember 2015 á vegum Þekkingarsetursins á Blönduósi og Textílsetursins. Þau eiga að vekja athygli á að Norðurland vestra er frábær staður fyrir textíl- og listatengda starfsemi.

Myndböndin skiptast í átta þætti og munu birtast hér á næstu vikum.

Textílsetur and the Blönduós Center of Research and Collaboration (Þekkingarsetur) have released a series of special short video clips on textiles in our region. Enjoy!

Additionally, scroll down to discover a podcast by Kate Telma (USA) discussing the compelling story of Sarah Schade, an artist who attended Textílsetur in December 2016.

PODCAST

BY KATE TELMA
Featuring Sarah Schade and Melody Woodnutt.
Sarah Schade is an artist from the USA who attended the Textílsetur in December 2016. Sarah´s decision to come back to Iceland after a tragic event has meant taking a leap of faith to both deconstruct her experience and put things back together in a way that makes sense.
We are glad to report, that after this podcast Sarah has now completed her residency and has worked on new patterns for underwear and outerwear using some of the historically oldest wool in Iceland; her process included a knitting machine, unravelling pieces, and some reconstructing to create work that was uncomfortable to wear.
